Jackson Jekyll

First of all I want to apologize for it being a while since I've posted. I have decided instead of posting every day I will be doing a weekly post featuring one or multiple things.

This year there was a wave of four new signature dolls that come with pets of their own along with their own diaries. Two of these dolls came out earlier in the year, and two came out in the later half of the year. One of the dolls to come out in the earlier part is one of the few boys to get dolls, Jackson Jekyll .

Jackson Jekyll is a special doll, because they follow the theme of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Jackson's alter ego in the Monster High world is Holt Hyde, which came out with the first couple waves and is said to be scheduled for a re-release this year. Both Jackson and Holt come with crossfade the chameleon, though his coloring is different between the dolls. As with all the Monster High signature dolls, he comes with a diary of his own and a stand however he does not come with a brush of his own. With how hard his hair is though because of the hair spray they use, the brush isn't needed at all. Another difference is the stand for the doll, it has a wider holder at the top to accommodate the wider width of the doll. Jackson has the same amazing quality that all of the monster high dolls have, with nods to the character he is based off of. For one thing 'Mad Science' is listed as his favorite subject which is a nod to Dr. Jekyll, and one o the other biggest nods is the ying yang symbol that is on his messenger bag. Yin Yangs are a symbol of light and dark in balance, which is how Jekyll and Hyde are, a light and dark in balance with one another.

I highly recommend getting this doll, and as soon as you can. They are saying he is going to become harder and harder to find in stores because they will no longer get shipments with him in them. That's all for this week, stay tune next week for more Monster High goodies! Also keep any eye on the blog, I will be adding more and more features that I'm sure you'll like!

Monster High Monster Maker Machine

Alright so I promised more tales of my clearance finds and I have one. Sadly it is not a good tale! I found the Monster High Monster Maker, the one that makes the little keychains. I decided to take a before and after picture!

Here's the before picture!

There is no after picture.

Yeah that's right, no after picture because I didn't do it. It wasn't me being lazy though, it was me being frustrated with a crappy product. The pieces fit together perfectly, However if you don't put the fabric just right it won't work!  There is also no way to take the pieces apart to try and redo it, so its a one time shot. After messing up a few times I just gave up and stuffed everything back in the box. I think I'll borrow the craft glue and just glue the fabric on the items, it won't look the best but at least I'll have the keychains I paid for.

Now I wouldn't really recommend this for people, at least not doing it the way they say to. The keychains are suppose to turn out really cute so if you want to get it and do it differently I would recommend it. When I get the keychains done I'll post a picture in another blog, to let you know how putting it together with craft glue went.

Monster High Cleo De Nile Vanity

Today I went to Walmart to hang out with a friend, I was hoping to find a Robecca Steam and a Venus McFlyTrap doll. However I didn't find either, which makes me sad. Instead I found something I never expected to see, Monster High stuff on CLEARANCE! Okay so anyone who knows me, I am the clearance queen. I will dig through clearance bins until I'm sure I've gone through every thing in it and sometimes will double check. So of course when I saw monster high stuff on clearance I went a bit crazy, however I'm going to try to space them out into separate posts since they are way awesome.

My first purchase with the clearance section, Monster High Cleo de Nile's Vanity Accessory . I haven't taken it off the cardstock yet though I will eventually, I just want to wait until I have a place to put it. I had heard of this play set often, and truthfully I never thought I would be interested in playsets. However when I saw this and thought of how I could use it, I had to grab it right away! I'm glad I did though, the detail on this is amazing! The table of course is Egyptian theme, but the amount of objects on it is wonderful. You would definitely think its a royal's table, which is very fitting for Cleo. The backdrop is full of decorations, including snakes and even flowers, while the legs have cats and other things. Along with the table you get small toys for it, including jewelry that I believe you can put on your Cleo Dolls. The chair looks just as beautifully made as the table, carrying on the same theme. All in all, this is an amazing playset and I recommend seeing if you can find it even if its not on clearance!

Monster High Ghoul Box

I've mentioned before that there are two Monster High iPad apps out already. I recently downloaded the free app Monster High Ghoul Box for the iPhone and iPad, and I rather like it. This app actually comes out with a variety of goodies for the users.

The first one I came across is the 'monster messager' which can be used to encrypt messages that only people with the app can translate. I haven't tried this one, mainly because I don't know anyone who has the app but I think it works well from what I saw. There is also a sound section where you can play 'creepy' sounds along with your music making it more of your own. There is also a photo editing section and a monster high-themed ringtone section. Beyond that the rest of the apps are more like games, including the always popular M*A*S*H game, however this isn't the game that has my interest. The game I like the most is Frankie Seam Stress, in this game you have Frankie standing there and randomly falling apart at the beginning of the each level. Your job is to put her back together, the faster you do it the more points you get. I don't think there is a level cap for this, I didn't reach one and was up to level 5  when I finally stopped. There is also an audio editor called  Zombie Speak, in this you can record your voice and the editor will translate into a zombie voice by basically slowing it down and lowering the tone.

All in all I find this to be a great app to play with, I'm definitely happy with what I got considering its a free. I definitely recommend checking into this!

Monster High Scarily Ever After

One of my favorite doll lines to come out so far, I haven't been able to get. Recently, within the last couple of months, Target got an exclusive doll set called Scarily Ever After.

These three dolls are based on fairy tales: Draculaura being Snow Bite , Frankie being Threaderella and Clawdeen being Little Dead Riding Hood . These beautiful dolls come with short story books to go along with their outfits. So far these are the only dolls out right now in the series, and you can only get them at Target. That is of course if you don't want to drop $150 dollars on eBay for the three of them, I love Monster High but I would never spend that much on dolls. For now I would say these are best left for the collectors, merely because the work it would take to hunt these down for a little one might be too much. Then again that's coming from someone whose closest Target store is an hour away haha.

If these become available anywhere else, I'll definitely be posting about it because I will most likely have gotten them!

Monster High Color N Style

The other day at Walmart I saw one of the cutest purse designs I've ever seen. At Walmart they have a black and white purse that you can get with markers and gems to color it in.

I personally didn't get this because I don't need a purse right now, however I think it would be a great gift for any fabulous little ghoul. With the  large empty sections on the purse they can color and design it any way they want, making their fashion their own. It just helps promote the 'be unique' message that monster high likes to have with their stuff. I'm not sure how much it actually was, but I found it in the toy section near a price tag that was 12 dollars so I'm thinking it's probably about that.  Its definitely an item I recommend looking into!

Monster High Skultimate Roller Maze Dolls

Tonight I went out to Walmart just exploring as usual, they are changing their toy section around right now so a lot of toys are going on clearance to make room for the new ones coming in. I've been trying to avoid buying any dolls lately because of how much they cost to get, however I couldn't help myself when I saw the newest batch of Monster High dolls on the shelves.   One of the newest waves to come out is for the future game that is coming out for the Wii and the DS, due to be released in November.  So far in the doll set there is Frankie Stein , Operetta , Lagoona Blue , and Ghoulia Yelps . There are other dolls available, however they are exclusives to certain stores making it a lot harder for me to get right now.

These dolls are beautifully done just like all their dolls are, making them a joy to get and open up. Every one of the dolls come with beautifully made roller skates and helmets that are themed around the character. For example Lagoona's has a fish scale pattern and a large fin on it while Ghoulia's looks like a brain.  As with most of the dolls, these come with stands for collectors to use along with a little image card that has a picture of the character on the front and then on the back it has pictures of all four characters.  One thing that is different with these dolls is they do not come with brushes for the dolls, however with how the hair is mostly sprayed so its hard and stays in place there isn't really a need for a brush. The dolls all seem to have a green theme with them, the stands being a bright green and all of them having green on their outfits along with in their head. The fact all these dolls have different hair then they usually do makes them an even more amazing doll to collect.

I highly recommend these dolls for anyone who is interested in them! They are typically about 17-18 dollars a piece.

Monster High iPad Figurines

The figures have come out! Read my review about them here!

Some pictures have recently been going around online of Monster High figurines, there was four different figurines in the picture being Draculaura, Lagoona, Clawdeen, and Frankie.

There was a lot of rumors going around far as what the figures could be fore, a lot of people thinking they would end up as McDonalds happy meal toys. Personally I think those would be an awesome thing to get, however that isn't what they are going to be. These beautiful figurines are a part of a new thing that Mattel is coming out with. They are called 'Apptivity' figures and are going to be used in a Monster High iPad app. I'm not sure if the app is out yet, though it won't be the first Monster High app that is out. So far I know of two different iPad apps though I've only tried one of them so far. There isn't really anything else out about these figures yet, not even a release date for them. On the B&N website there is a release date of  July 7th, however they aren't out yet otherwise they would be listed in more places.

When more information about them comes out I'll write more about them, they are something I'm extremely interested in.

Monster High for School

I've been a fan of monster high for a long time, though I hadn't gotten much more then the dolls before. However this year while school stuff is coming out there are tons of Monster High stuff coming out for the fabulous ghouls of your school! A couple weeks ago I picked up a few spiral notebooks, and I've also seen folders that you can get. However I went to Walmart today and they had a new section up! They had the 'dollar days' section up filled with all sorts of things, including stuff that could be used at school. I being the monster high fanatic that I am grabbed one of everything. Here's a few of the goodies I was able to grab today!

This is the dry erase board, sketch kit, and book jacket I got from the dollar day section. All together these was 5 dollars, and they aren't the only things I got from there. I also got a small set of markers and a mini notebook for a couple more books. For any monster high fan I highly recommend dropping by Walmart and seeing if they have this stuff, its nice to get monster high stuff for a cheap price considering how expensive it can be.

Monster High Dot Dead Gorgeous

One of the newest waves that came out lately is the Dot Dead Gorgeous dolls. The simple theme of these dolls is that the characters outfits are full of dots. They seem to be ready for a dance of some sort, with dresses covered in the dots. When I first saw them online, I truthfully thought nothing of them except for the fact it was the first new doll of Spectra to come out so far. I only really wanted the Spectra doll because of my love for her, and I found the dolls to look boring online. However when I found the dolls in the store, my opinions of them changed fully. The dolls are beautifully made just like all the other dolls of course, but their look is different enough to make me want to get them. So far I haven't gotten all the DDG dolls yet, I only have Operetta and Lagoona blue but I'm hoping to find Spectra somewhere soon. Though last night while I was looking through Amazon I found that there were dolls to the series I didn't know was even coming out. On there it seems there are exclusive three doll sets available, though I have a feeling they are a store exclusive I'm just not sure what store yet. When I get more of the dolls I'll be taking a picture of them to let you see them in a picture besides their stock image, sometimes stock images aren't really good for the dolls at all.

UPDATE: I have found they seem to be a walmart exclusive, at least they were at my walmart the other day along with Spectra! I now have all of the dot dead gorgeous set that is out so far.
