Monster High Scrapbook Kit

During this time of the year many people take hundreds of pictures of friends and family, of events and special times. A lot of people turn to scrapbooking afterwards, and your ghoul can too with the small scrapbooking kit.

I found this kit at Dollar General for five dollars, and it seems one of the few places to get it online is from amazon which you can find through the link above.  This kit is for doing scrapbooking on your wall, which makes it great for decorating your ghoul's wall with memories and Monster High. In this kit according to the front you get 60 pieces, most of it is actually the stickers that come with the set.

Above is what you get, though there is also a black and blue heart that is themed after Frankie Stein. It comes with two frames, which I tried to show by laying them on top of some of the sheets. It also comes with 4 scrapbook sheets, 3 being squares and the 4th being the heart I mentioned earlier. The rest of the pieces are gems, markers, and a variety of stickers which include the sparkling blue sheet. It is not visible from the picture but it is actually a sticker sheet with a variety of character themed stickers such as lightning bolts for Frankie, a pawprint for Clawdeen, and a bat for Draculaura.  The frames have a sticky side on them so you can hang them up, however the sheets do not come with a sticky side. I am not sure how they expect you to use it to scrapbook on your wall unless they want you to tape everything up. The way the scrapbook package is packed up is a rather big pain really, everything is in a small flat box in a tray you can pull out. However everything is taped together leaving you with scotch tape trying to stick to other parts of the kit if you don't use it all right away.

This kit is a cute thing to get for your ghoul to finish off your Monster High Christmas, especially if you can find it at a dollar general store.  I would recommend getting this set even if its just to take the set apart to use for other things, such as the stickers for other projects or the frames and sheets to decorate other things.

Monster High Poster Book

The other day while I was at the store, I noticed something in the poster section that I hadn't seen before. I of course had to pick it up and look at it, it was Monster High after all! When I saw exactly what it was, I had to get it!

This poster book is filled with 12 different 8.5x11 posters to decorate your monster high room with. The posters are beautiful, for the most part are colored though there is a grayscale poster and others that focus on black and white with a pink accent.

One of the best things about these posters is there's one that has Spectra on it. Granted, she's not a big part of the picture, but it is a nice change to what I have been seeing on posters and merchandise. It is actually the first time I've seen spectra included on anything besides her doll items and costumes of course.  This may be a sign that they will start including her on more things. I was able to find this book for five dollars at my store, though I'm not sure if its available at stores besides Walmart.

I highly recommend this poster book! It comes with perforated lines making it easy to get the posters out to decorate your room with!

Monster High Apptivity Figures and Game

Well, they have finally come out! Wednesday last week I had to go to the store to pick some stuff up, and out of habit I went over to check on the apptivity stuff. I think I may have freaked out some people near me when I yelled out YES! as I saw this beautiful figurine sitting there to buy!

There weren't many in the store when I was there, seems they are getting grabbed off the shelves pretty quickly so I was only able to get Frankie Stein. Even so, I know I will get the others in the set, Draculaura , Clawdeen Wolf , and Lagoona Blue . The figures price wise are alright, being ten dollars a figurine. However they are made beautifully, with quite a bit of detail put into them. Even just as a collectors item, these would be a good things to get! However I realize you all are not here just for the figurine, you gotta be curious about the game as well right? Well when you get the figure there is a card in the box that tells how to download the app.

The app itself right now, is an alright game. You can kinda play the different sections with just one character, but they seem laggy in response compared to Frankie's section so it may be best to just wait to get the other figures. Frankie's game is simple, you go around a class room picking up ingredients for a science experiment. When it goes wrong you create a metal storm you have to escape from. At the end of this, there is a thing that says 'to be continued' so with more updates there will be more parts of the games. I checked out the other games as best as I could, they all seem pretty easy however Draculaura's interested me the most. She's at a carnival with Clawd and wants to win goblins, so she has to play games. I wasn't able to get to one of the games because of not having Draculaura, so I'm not sure if its a game within a game or not. The cut scenes are cute, they are done in a comic book style and feature many different characters depending on what story you are working on. The animation in the game is also well done, the 3D animation being smooth like the movie animations are.

All in all, I definitely recommend this. It is a great, if a bit simple right now, game plus the figures are really cute. They are a great addition to any monster high collection, and I'm sure your little ghouls would love playing with them.

Monster High Movies

The other day I lucked out, I was able to catch new Monster High movie, Ghouls Rule . I haven't bought the DVD of it yet but I was able to catch a special showing of it on TV. I was also able to catch New Ghoul in School and Ghouls Fall in Love.

So far the only movie to get a DVD for it is Ghouls Rule and that just recently came out in October. However all three of them are great shows to check into if you are a fan of the dolls. You can often see outfits the dolls have in the animations, for example in New Ghoul in School they have the cheer-leading uniforms and the Dawn of the Dance outfits along with their regular ones. I highly recommend checking into these if you have a chance to, they are great for any Monster High fan.

Monster High Ghouls Rule Dolls

This month a new movie came out as a straight to DVD movie. This is the first actual Monster High movie, called Ghouls Rule. Along with this movie a line of dolls have come out with outfits based on the costumes in the movie.

So far to this line there are five dolls, I have been able to get three of them so far. The dolls that are out so far are Draculaura , Clawdeen Wolf , Frankie Stein , Abbey Bominable , and Cleo De Nile . These dolls, as all the Monster High dolls are, are beautifully made and full of details. The dolls come with quite a few accessories compared to other Monster High dolls, including a masquerade mask themed on their costume, a card based on the character's image in the movie, and even accessories to set up a party of your own. Some of the accessories for the party include a silver cauldren filled with a green plastic potion and a cake on a platter that comes with a detachable skeleton hand stand.  These dolls are highly detailed as all Monster High dolls are, especially when it comes to the small details. One of my favorite things about these dolls, is the fact they are in exaggerated versions of their identity making their outfits relate to them even more. Clawdeen has a short hair spot much like Venus McFlytrap has, but hers has a beautiful spotted pattern on it to help with the wild feel of Clawdeen's outfit. One problem I've noticed with almost all Abbey dolls is the hair has a tendency to fall out easily, however I haven't had a problem with this version of Abbey. It seems that they are getting better about preventing that problem from happening, so if you've been avoiding getting the Abbey dolls because of this problem I would suggest trying this one.

I highly recommend getting these dolls, and I hope to personally finish the set myself. Draculaura has beautiful wings to go with her costumes making her one of my most wanted dolls at the moment, and Cleo has a very Egyptian queen feel to her outfit. From the clips I've seen of the movie, these fit very well with the movie and would be great gifts for collectors and children.

Monster High Dead Tired Dolls

A year or so ago a new line of the Monster High dolls came out. These dolls are called Dead Tired, and are dressed for a sleepover. When these came out many forms of beds came out including a coffin for Draculaura that doubled as a jewelry box. Within the last few months the line has finally gotten some new dolls, Clawdeen Wolf , Abbey Bominable , and Draculaura .

In this set the only fully new doll is the Abbey doll, the other two are remakes in a way. However they are different from their original Dead Tired dolls. Draculaura's hair is done differently then before, in the first version her hair was up in short and tall pony tails at the top of her head. I like both versions, but I really like this version of the dolls. One of the best things about it is the fact you no longer have to get Clawdeen's bed in order to get her, like you had to with the first version. As always these dolls are beautifully made, and even though they don't come with a brush or stand they are definitely worth what they cost. Hopefully they will release more Dead Tired dolls as time goes on.

I fully recommend these dolls to any collector!

Monster High Monster Maker Machine

Alright so I promised more tales of my clearance finds and I have one. Sadly it is not a good tale! I found the Monster High Monster Maker, the one that makes the little keychains. I decided to take a before and after picture!

Here's the before picture!

There is no after picture.

Yeah that's right, no after picture because I didn't do it. It wasn't me being lazy though, it was me being frustrated with a crappy product. The pieces fit together perfectly, However if you don't put the fabric just right it won't work!  There is also no way to take the pieces apart to try and redo it, so its a one time shot. After messing up a few times I just gave up and stuffed everything back in the box. I think I'll borrow the craft glue and just glue the fabric on the items, it won't look the best but at least I'll have the keychains I paid for.

Now I wouldn't really recommend this for people, at least not doing it the way they say to. The keychains are suppose to turn out really cute so if you want to get it and do it differently I would recommend it. When I get the keychains done I'll post a picture in another blog, to let you know how putting it together with craft glue went.

Monster High Scarily Ever After

One of my favorite doll lines to come out so far, I haven't been able to get. Recently, within the last couple of months, Target got an exclusive doll set called Scarily Ever After.

These three dolls are based on fairy tales: Draculaura being Snow Bite , Frankie being Threaderella and Clawdeen being Little Dead Riding Hood . These beautiful dolls come with short story books to go along with their outfits. So far these are the only dolls out right now in the series, and you can only get them at Target. That is of course if you don't want to drop $150 dollars on eBay for the three of them, I love Monster High but I would never spend that much on dolls. For now I would say these are best left for the collectors, merely because the work it would take to hunt these down for a little one might be too much. Then again that's coming from someone whose closest Target store is an hour away haha.

If these become available anywhere else, I'll definitely be posting about it because I will most likely have gotten them!

Monster High iPad Figurines

The figures have come out! Read my review about them here!

Some pictures have recently been going around online of Monster High figurines, there was four different figurines in the picture being Draculaura, Lagoona, Clawdeen, and Frankie.

There was a lot of rumors going around far as what the figures could be fore, a lot of people thinking they would end up as McDonalds happy meal toys. Personally I think those would be an awesome thing to get, however that isn't what they are going to be. These beautiful figurines are a part of a new thing that Mattel is coming out with. They are called 'Apptivity' figures and are going to be used in a Monster High iPad app. I'm not sure if the app is out yet, though it won't be the first Monster High app that is out. So far I know of two different iPad apps though I've only tried one of them so far. There isn't really anything else out about these figures yet, not even a release date for them. On the B&N website there is a release date of  July 7th, however they aren't out yet otherwise they would be listed in more places.

When more information about them comes out I'll write more about them, they are something I'm extremely interested in.
