This month a new movie came out as a straight to DVD movie. This is the first actual Monster High movie, called Ghouls Rule. Along with this movie a line of dolls have come out with outfits based on the costumes in the movie.
So far to this line there are five dolls, I have been able to get three of them so far. The dolls that are out so far are Draculaura , Clawdeen Wolf , Frankie Stein , Abbey Bominable , and Cleo De Nile . These dolls, as all the Monster High dolls are, are beautifully made and full of details. The dolls come with quite a few accessories compared to other Monster High dolls, including a masquerade mask themed on their costume, a card based on the character's image in the movie, and even accessories to set up a party of your own. Some of the accessories for the party include a silver cauldren filled with a green plastic potion and a cake on a platter that comes with a detachable skeleton hand stand. These dolls are highly detailed as all Monster High dolls are, especially when it comes to the small details. One of my favorite things about these dolls, is the fact they are in exaggerated versions of their identity making their outfits relate to them even more. Clawdeen has a short hair spot much like Venus McFlytrap has, but hers has a beautiful spotted pattern on it to help with the wild feel of Clawdeen's outfit. One problem I've noticed with almost all Abbey dolls is the hair has a tendency to fall out easily, however I haven't had a problem with this version of Abbey. It seems that they are getting better about preventing that problem from happening, so if you've been avoiding getting the Abbey dolls because of this problem I would suggest trying this one.
I highly recommend getting these dolls, and I hope to personally finish the set myself. Draculaura has beautiful wings to go with her costumes making her one of my most wanted dolls at the moment, and Cleo has a very Egyptian queen feel to her outfit. From the clips I've seen of the movie, these fit very well with the movie and would be great gifts for collectors and children.
